They're Texans

This is the Houston Texans' marketing slogan for last season and this season.

I'm glad they're Texans, because I'm not.

A lame slogan for a lame franchise.

Go Cowboys.

The jealousy just oozes out of this post. :)

What's to be jealous of? A team that stole it's name from the original Kansas City Chiefs, aka Dallas Texans?

Kristy said...

Nope, just jealous over the greatness of being Texan in general, which unfortunately you can never fully understand.

Greatness? More like arrogance.

At least the Texans' marketing department knows who their target group is. I'm not part of it.

Go Cowboys.

It's OK honey, I don't expect you to understand.....

I don't understand it at all.

But, when a team averages 4 wins a year, they have to do some thing to market their team. Thus, the appeal to provincialism. Or, to Texas arrogance.

But you know deep down that your annoyance over the marketing has nothing to do with the mediocrity of the team.

Sure it does. The team stinks, but they do their best to make a pig smell good.

Thus, such stunts as the names of the colors. They're not merely red, white, and blue, but Battle Red, Liberty White, and Deep Steel Blue. Ugh!

This team stinks. They have to appeal to Texas pride/arrogance to sell tickets.

LOL! You two are a hoot!

It is a lame slogan. It made me think of the Mav's commercial, "I am. Oh yes I am. I'm a Dallas Mavericks fan." lol

That Mavs commercial was greatness! I wish someone had it recorded and would post it on YouTube. The team stunk to high heaven, but the commercial was great!

"come to Reunion, and watch us slam, and tell me who's a Mavericks fan...."
