Twisted

I was having a twisted thought last night, as there was no football on TV, and there wasn't even any baseball on, as the Astros were rained out in Philly.

Twisted and unstable: I think college football should be played outdoors, on grass, on Saturday. However, I like those Tuesday and Wednesday night games from the MAC and C-USA in a weird sort of way. I guess that's why ESPN puts them on those nights, as there are people like me that will watch them. And, a conference like the MAC would rather have people in Texas watch them on TV than make it easier for alums to go to a game in a far-flung college town on a weekend.

Give me the MAC!

Ready for that two or three weeks of football every night...

Did you know that last night there were seven shut outs in MLB, even though three of them were rainouts? Did you know that is a tie for the second most amount of shut outs in one night? Did you know that the most shut outs in one night was in 66? Did you know that back on June 4, 1966, when those 8 shut outs were pitched, five of the pitchers had gone the distance? Did you know I listened to the Hardline talk baseball today because baseball is a talking sport? :)

As for mid-week games, I liked those because, back in the day, it gave the Greatness of TCU a chance for some national coverage and they would not have received it any other way, even when they were playing well.

Go Frogs!

Hardline Fundamental Truth #1: Baseball Is A Talking Sport. Those are some impressive numbers..I had no idea. Sports radio in Houston is so lame, but that's another subject for another day.

TCU, Louisville, and Virginia Tech have all used those midweek games to become national powers. They've been pretty good for Toledo, Bowling Green, and Miami of Ohio, also. Once again, the power of the Worldwide Leader In Sports..

TCU and national power in the same sentence. Who would have thought? They have a good chance of running the table and making a BCS bowl this year.

And you know I'm a fan of Toledo as well (and sometimes Bowling Green since it's just down the highway). Go Rockets!
